My Story
My name is Shannon Battiscombe, and like so many others, I never imagined that starting a family would become one of the hardest journeys of my life. For years I believed what most of us are taught growing up — that when the time is right and you decide you want a baby, it will simply happen. Instead, my husband Tom and I found ourselves navigating infertility, IVF treatments, endless appointments, heartbreak, and the emotional rollercoaster that so many people silently endure.
Why I Wrote My Book
I wrote Infertility: The Silent Grief of Wanting a Child because infertility is something that so many people experience, yet so few truly talk about. Behind every negative pregnancy test, every IVF cycle, and every difficult question from others is a story filled with hope, loss, strength and resilience. I wanted to share the reality of this journey — the parts that are often hidden — so that anyone going through it can feel seen, understood and less alone.

Why I'm Doing What I'm Doing
Through this website, my book, the Tiny Miracles Co., and the community I hope to build, my goal is simple: to create a space where infertility is spoken about openly and compassionately—a place where people can find comfort, support, and understanding from others walking the same path. Infertility can feel incredibly lonely, but it doesn’t have to be. If sharing my story helps even one person feel less alone, then every part of this journey will have meant something.
